Teams are built from the bottom first we have to create a foundation or a plan in order to get things in motion. The plan is the most important part because without organization nobody knows where to start. In DMP III, we were on a mission to make sure that we put fourth our best effort and we showed that with the master contract we were three people who knew little about one another but we had one main goal that was to be successful in the completion of our project. We had to Value one another’s opinions to make sure that everyone played the correct part. We also needed our creative ideas to combine in order to create a vision that we all thought would be perfect. When meeting each other in discussion we found out that we are all from different backgrounds. So in order for our three fundamentals to work to create a plan with a mission, values and a vision. We need to make sure that our team was so close nothing could tear us apart.
In teams this is a state of Cohesion which includes having trusting relationships, members who can develop strong bonds to other team members of their team and to the team itself. In this case we had to make a commitment to do our part and communicate the new age way which was through technology we all had busy schedules and things we needed to do in life. Sometime it felt as if we would never connect or meet or even form the same vision like our plans had failed that we did not build the correct foundation from the beginning. DMP III like all of the DMP’s required creativity but this time in a team format. Which means that we needed Task Work Processes. The first one we needed to use when creating a website was Creative Behavior This is when we used Brainstorming, which usually involves “face-to-face interaction meeting of team members in which each offers as many ideas as possible about some problem or issue.”(pg. 385) to make our vision come true. Alexandra was able to display this through our website all of the creative ideas and useful solutions. Alexandra not knowing that she was going to be the leader to make our vision come true used a boundary spanning activity to make sure things worked out the way that they were supposed. Task coordinator Activities where she communicated and made sure that everyone took care of business in a specific area. Her dedication spread like a wild fire Ryan started to take action to make sure that everyone knew what was going on and looked into specific details. He seemed to make sure that our action processes he started asking questions and monitoring our progress toward our finished project.
During, DMP III we all wanted to make sure that our vision matched and everything came together perfectly but that was impossible. Our Task work seemed to move to Interpersonal Processes. This where we had problems we all had busy schedules and we weren’t able to meet as much as we thought we should. Although using technology seemed to work it caused Relationship Conflict –disagreements among team members because our schedules and things we had planned caused strife in our perfect team combination. With our three fundamentals a mission, values and vision and this huge task at hand with complications we also encountered Task Conflict. We all wanted to submit the project by the early submission deadline but we the disagreement and time that was provided we were not able to make it which caused to think about perfecting the project to go over and beyond to put in more time and effort and communicate better between one another. With all of the information that we obtained from articles to ideas to the textbook we needed to make sure that we had understanding we all seemed to be senders and the internet and emails and text messages and even the events we had planned was the noise it seemed like things would never come together or work. After everyone’s emotions settled we were able to decode and make sure that we received the message and understood that this was our finished project and it was something that we all created because we were organized created a vision, kept our values and made sure that we accomplished the mission that was set before us.
